A Tour for this season is being worked on.  Scheduling is difficult because PHS and O’Dowd’s academic schedules don’t coincide, plus PHS goes to Mexico over its Spring Break.  We had been contemplating a tour after school gets out in June, but that possibility is now off the table.  We may end up with something along the lines of a long weekend.

Ski Week:  Despite all best efforts, we’ve been unable to get the mini-tour to San Diego pulled together. You are all, of course, more than welcome to go watch the USA 7s Tournament that weekend, if by chance you and your families find yourselves in need of a weekend vacation in sunny San Diego.

PITS 36 – Montgomery 5 Referee: Cary Bertolone
Reffed a practice game between the two high school squads on a soft “For Pete’s Sake” rugby pitch in Santa Rosa. PITS dominated play, especially in the first half when they had their varsity team in. Strong forward play with good inside back play had Montgomery on their heels most of the day, but Montgomery never gave up and had some strong forward play of their own along side a very good flyhalf. It was 24-0 at the half, but ended up 36-5 as the second half became much more even. Lots of fun!!!

The 2009 PITS A-Side will again be competing in the Northern California Rugby Football Union Bay Conference - High School Varsity Gold Division.

Here is the schedule for the scrimmages tomorrow at Redwood High School in Larkspur:

• 9:00 Marin vs. PITS
• 10:00 Marin vs. Tri-Valley
• 11:00 Tri-Valley vs. PITS
• 12:00 PITS (frosh/soph) vs. Marin (frosh/soph)
• Each match is 2 20 minute halves (40 minutes total)
• Scrimmages are at Redwood High School on the football field.

IMPORTANT!  The Referees will check for USA Rugby CIPP numbers, so you must be registered with USA Rugby to play.  (Register through the PITS Registration page by clicking on REGISTER above.)   

Carpool is at 7:30am Saturday morning in front of Piedmont High.

The Kick-Off Meeting for the PITS 2009 season is Wednesday, January 7th at 7:30pm at 225 Hillside Avenue, Piedmont.   Click here for the Agenda. 

At least one Parent of each Player intending to play must attend.  All Players are encouraged to attend. 

This is an important meeting to make sure that everyone has the information that they need to participate.
